  • I am pleased to see that the submissions of our AIMS Allergy and Immunology journal in 2020 increased significantly, and that authors come from many countries. We noticed that during this 2020 we had 50% acceptance/rejection ratio illustrating the strict and efficient review process that we put in place. Many new journals have to tolerate higher acceptance/rejection in order to attract submissions. Two special issues and three topical sections were started up. The number of downloads represent the interest that our journal generated in the scientific communities.

13 new Editorial Board members joined in 2020. For the next year we will strengthen the marketing promotion to raise our reputation and influence. Furthermore, the editorial office need to make full use of our reviewers and Editorial Board members, to encourage more people, positively join in the development of our journal, such as recruiting papers, proposing new special issue/topical section topics, recommending potential new active scientists, to increase the number of high quality submissions to this journal, while maintaining a rigorous review process. Furthermore, I hope that the indexing process will continue.

AIMS Allergy and Immunology Board has 58 members, and 13 of which joined in 2020.

In the fourth year, our journal developed much faster than before. We have received more than 30 submissions and published 10 papers in 2020.

An important change is that AIMS Allergy and Immunology invited Prof. Marcella Reale as our new Editor in Chief from November 2020.

In 2020, we designed a new website with some new functions and updated the submission system. According to the feedback from our EB members and authors, the new website looks good and is easy to use.

Growing our journal will require ongoing renewal of our Editorial Board. With this in mind, our first action for 2021 is to renew the Editorial Board.

The second thing we need to do is the marketing promotion.

Lastly, further increase influence of AIMS Allergy and Immunology by soliciting and advertising high quality articles and special issues.

    Acknowledgments

Thanks also for the contribution of all authors and the hard work of the in-house editorial team.
