  • Many practical applications impose challenges of selecting required elements from a vast amount of data, with the requirement of maximizing non-submodular set functions. In this paper, we design two algorithms for the problem of maximizing a normalized monotone non-submodular set function with a cardinality constraint. By utilizing the concept of a diminishing-return ratio, we first propose a one-pass algorithm called Non-SubModular-Sieve-Streaming$ ^{++} $, attaining an approximation ratio of $ \min\left\{(1-\varepsilon)\gamma/2^\gamma, 1-1/2^\gamma\right \} $, where $ \varepsilon\in (0, 1) $ is any small real number and $ \gamma\in(0, 1] $ is the diminishing return ratio. Then, to reduce the adaptive complexity, we improve the algorithm and derive Non-SubModular-Batch-Sieve-Streaming$ ^{++} $ with an approximation ratio $ \min\left\{(1-3\varepsilon)\gamma/2^\gamma, 1-1/2^\gamma\right \} $ for any $ \varepsilon\in (0, 1/3) $. Finally, numerical experiments are carried out to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of the two Streaming algorithms.
