Manuscript Topics

We invite submissions for a special issue on “Optimization in STEM Education: Innovations, Applications, and Best Practices”. The goal of this special issue is to explore the innovations, applications, and best practices within STEM education. This special issue aims to showcase the interdisciplinary nature of optimization by integrating operational research, mathematics, statistics, and other relevant disciplines. It provides a platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to share insights, present research findings, and exchange ideas on how optimization techniques and approaches can enhance teaching, learning, and decision-making in STEM education.

Contribution to this special issue may include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
• Integrating Optimization and Operational Research in STEM Education: Explore how operational research techniques and optimization methodologies can be integrated into STEM education to optimize resource allocation, scheduling, curriculum design, and decision-making processes.
• Data-Driven Optimization Approaches in STEM Education: Examine the application of data-driven optimization techniques, including statistical analysis and machine learning, in improving teaching, learning, and decision-making in STEM education. Discuss how data-driven insights can be leveraged to optimize adaptive learning, personalized education, and educational analytics.
• Best Practices in Optimization-Based Decision-Making in STEM Education: Share case studies and examples of successful optimization-based decision-making in STEM education. Discuss the implementation of optimization models, algorithms, and strategies to improve educational processes, curriculum development, resource allocation, and educational policy-making.

We welcome submissions from researchers, educators, practitioners, and other stakeholders in the field of education and optimization. Manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant area.

Accepted papers will be published in STEM Education in regular issues on a rolling basis until the closure of this special issue. Publishing with STEM Education is free of charge.
