Telerehabilitation is a promising health care delivery mode due to the minimization of barriers for in-person management, such as time, cost, and lack of transportation. It is “the provision of rehabilitation services at a distance using telecommunications technology as the delivery medium” [1] page 217, such as telephone, video (webcam, video-conferencing), sensors, mobile apps, web-based etc. The objective of this special issue is to:
1. provide an overview of telerehab, as a health care delivery mode;
2. summarize current evidence for telerehabilitation for impairments after selected medical conditions, such as stroke, joint replacement (for osteoarthritis), and musculoskeletal trauma;
3. explore key implementation factors important to advance health service delivery using telerehabilitation.
