Manuscript Topics
Mathematical modelling in brain science plays a crucial role in understanding fundamental mechanisms of the brain multi-physics happening at various temporal and spatial scales in health and disease. Due to their abilities to correctly interpret experimental observations and make predictions, mathematical models can guide the development of novel technologies for more accurate diagnostic methods and more effective therapies for brain disorders like traumatic brain injuries, cancer, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, and neurodegenerative diseases, just to list a few. This special issue is devoted to recent advancements in mathematical models of brain biomechanics and/or electro-chemistry in health and disease, as well as brain pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics that can be transferred to clinical practice and ultimately contribute to improving brain healthcare. Original research as well as review articles on mathematical models in brain science are welcome for submission to this special issue.
