Manuscript Topics
This special issue celebrating the 60th birthday of Prof. Yang Kuang (Arizona State University) highlights advances in mathematical approaches across biological systems. Modern challenges in mathematical biology require innovative approaches for developing biologically relevant models that reflect real-world phenomena. The incorporation of mechanistic and/or data-integrated methods aims to capture complex biological processes with mathematical frameworks. This collection showcases a variety of studies spanning diverse ecological and disease systems that leverage data and focus on understating underlying biological processes and mechanism governing systems.
