Dear Editorial Board Members,
I am writing to share with you the end of year publication report for AIMS Molecular Science, and extend my heartfelt appreciation for your contribution to the sustainability of the journal. It is through the dedication, leadership, and direct involvement of the members of the Editorial Board and Editorial Office that publications have more than doubled, from 11 to 26, in 2015. Please review the work that has been published by accessing articles via our newly updated web site at http://www.aimspress.com/journal/Molecular.
To make 2016 another successful year, I once again call on the members of the Editorial Board to submit original research or review papers, invite colleagues to publish in our journal, either coordinate or invite colleagues to serve as guest editor for a special topic issue, and reach out to researchers at conferences to publish symposium or individual contribution content in the journal. Your continued time and expertise to review manuscripts and provide constructive and timely feedback has positioned us well to justify indexing in some highly accessed databases including PMC, SCOPUS, EI, SCIE and others. We hope to gain database index listing in 2016.
While it is understood that membership on the Editorial Board requires time and effort, it is also recognized that not everyone will have the time necessary to submit articles, review papers, or solicit guest editors. If you find yourself in this position, please help us identify scientists that may be able to fill your position so we can once again double the number of submissions in the coming year. Assuming each of the 54 members of the Editorial Board either submits a manuscript for publication or assumes responsibility for encouraging a minimum of one submission from a colleague, there is reason to believe we can achieve a goal of over 50 publications in 2016. Please accept my challenge in the coming year to take responsibility for a minimum of one manuscript submission.
The Editorial Office is currently soliciting new members to the Editorial Board, particularly with expertise in the area of energy research. Please help us identify exceptional scientists to join our ranks in an effort to ensure excellence in publishing content.
In closing, I thank you for the work you do to ensure the success of AIMS Molecular Science.
Happy New Year and best wishes for the coming year.
