AIMS Agriculture and Food has reached yet another milestone, the completion of its second year. I would like to thank all the authors that have contributed and published their work in the journal, the members of the Editorial Board, and the members of the Managing Team on a job well done. 2017 has been a challenging year for the journal, however, the accomplishments that are detailed in this report clearly indicate that the journal's objectives and challenges have been successfully met. The journal is currently indexed in: AGRICOLA, AGRIS, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Web of Science and Scopus. We have attracted a significant number of submissions, most of which were research papers, and have subjected them to a fast, fair, thorough and relevant peer review process. It is important to recognize the fact that although we would like to increase the number of published manuscripts, we have adhered to our guiding principles and have not compromised the criteria of merit, scientific quality and relevance according to which submitted manuscripts are being reviewed. We recognize the fact that the competition is tough and that authors have many opportunities to publish their work elsewhere. However, we maintain our belief that the acceptance, reputation and success of the journal is critically dependent on the quality of its published articles. We are committed to continue developing and improving the journal. Members of the Editorial Board have been effective and efficient in reviewing their assigned manuscripts and the managing team has been very effective in processing the submitted manuscripts, from the time of submission and until manuscripts have been published. I am thankful to all of you that have contributed their time and effort. The journal has attracted authors from all over the world who submitted manuscripts that report on and discuss a broad array of topics. The published articles have attracted the attention of many readers and 10 of these articles have been downloaded 7, 338 times. We are hopeful that the growth of the journal will continue in 2018. We hope to attract more authors to publish their work in AIMS Agriculture and Food. We are committed to continue improving the way manuscripts are being reviewed and processed so that a decision about a submitted manuscripts can be made in the smoothest way and the shortest time possible. Our collective success depends on our input, judgement and continuous contribution. As the Editor in Chief of our journal I would like to invite all the members of the Editorial Board to set an example and submit (at least) one manuscript to our journal in 2018. Let's make it our priority to enhance the visibility and success of our journal. I would like to ask each member of the Editorial Board to serve as an ambassador of our journal by introducing our journals to colleagues and students and by encouraging them to submit their manuscripts to our journal. Together with the Editorial Board, the managing team and I will work very hard to ensure the high quality of our journal and to propel our journal to the highest level of success possible. I am confident that together we can continue meeting our goals and objectives and I thank you for your continuous support.
