Ultimate strength of crystals, nanoparticles and nano-ceramics having diamond-like structure

A mathematical model for calculating the interplanar interaction energy of diamond-like structure ceramics at free surface of stock material in pseudopotential method has been developed. We have considered uniaxial [111] deformation of materials and obtained the “inverse Hall–Petch’s law” for strength. It is shown that nanoceramics has higher strength than the nanoparticles included in its composition.
