Invitation to submit an original research article, opinion paper, or review article for a special issue of AIMS Environmental Science

Geospatial technologies, such as remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), are frequently used to monitor, map, and study the environment and environmental systems. Since their advent, these tools and techniques have provided unique and effective ways to spatially examine complex natural and anthropogenic systems.

We invite papers for this special issue that explore and utilize remote sensing and GIS in new and novel ways to monitor natural and anthropogenic environs and systems. Topics studied may include (but are not limited to) reclaimed mine sites, old-growth forests, the atmosphere, plantation forests, climate change, urban forests, pollution, urban heat islands, agriculture areas, estuarine ecosystems, etc. In addition, applications that monitor human-environment interactions are desired. Remote sensing and GIS may be used in concert or separately in the papers.

All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed before their acceptance for publication.
The deadline for manuscript submission is 31 August 2016
