Exciting novel materials, which we did not even think about yesterday, appear nowadays on a regular basis. Examples are

Practitioners of Materials Science around the world make efforts to understand processes that take place in these Materials:
• Self-Assembly
• Phase Transformations
• Aging (e.g. Grain Growth)
• Formation of Materials Properties
Theoretically inclined researchers realized that practically the only way to understand these Materials is to learn how to simulate their behavior. To do that they use the following Methods:
• Mesoscale Kinetic Monte Carlo
• Density Functional
• Phase Field
• Phase Field Crystal
• Cellular Automata
• and their combinations
The Special Issue of AIMS Materials is accepting Review Papers and Original Contributions on the above described topics.

Paper submission
 All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed before their acceptance for publication.
The deadline for manuscript submission is 31 August 2015.
