Research in bioinformatics has been revolutionised in recent years by the development of advanced methods and algorithms. Mathematical Foundations in Bioinformatics explores the utility of mathematical methods to organise, manipulate and analyse extensive biological data. The scope of this is broad, including genomic sequence alignment, transcriptome analysis and data compression.
