Manuscript Topics
In recent years emerging technologies based on Internet of Things (IoT) have enjoyed a tremendous success in varieties of applications, ranging from air quality monitoring, precise agriculture, indoor navigation, to autonomous car, checkout-free store and intelligent manufacturing. Cheap and mobile sensors are available for measuring many kinds of environmental indicators. Practitioners in environmental protection have established IoTs of air monitoring sensors to identify the potential sources of the pollutants. IoTs for sensing temperature, humidity, illuminance, and chemical composition of soil are considered as key enablers for developing precise agriculture. Location-aware IoTs are used to provide high-accuracy outdoor and indoor navigation. Industry 4.0 (I 4.0) discloses the necessity of using IoT in manufacturing to enable the physical objects to connect and exchange information. The advanced applications of IoT usually involve big data analytics and artificial intelligence, bringing challenges of new business processes to be addressed. This special issue of Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering (MBE) calls for papers on Internet of Things (IoT)-Based Environmental Intelligence. Authors are encouraged to submit their best articles addressing the theory and applications within the aims and scopes of this special issue. Please refer to the web site of MBE for further information on the submission of articles.
