Manuscript Topics

New Distributed Satellite Systems and the role of satellite development on Education and capacity building have raised the interest on CubeSat applications, related science and technology.  Miniaturization trends, complexity reduction, innovation potential and reduced cost are key factors to select CubeSats as a first mission on universities as well as for initial space development for non-spacefaring nations, Space Agencies innovation programs, STEM programs, emerging New Space sector, etc.  Currently CubeSats have broad scientific utility, including Earth observation, climate monitoring, helio-physics, space weather, microgravity research, with increased use on operational applications as defense, disaster monitoring, domain awareness, Internet of Things relay, etc.  Miniature propulsion, MEMS based sensor/actuators, deployable structures and increased autonomy using artificial learning / machine learning makes possible to satisfy a wide range of operational concepts.  Moreover, we believe that there is a need to document, compare and critically assess mission architectures, technologies and science results, and related policy making.
