Optimization algorithms and evolutionary computation have emerged as powerful paradigms for solving complex, nonlinear, and high-dimensional problems that are often intractable using conventional analytical methods. Inspired by natural processes such as biological evolution, swarm intelligence, and adaptive learning, these algorithms provide robust and flexible frameworks for exploring large search spaces and identifying near-optimal solutions under uncertain and dynamic conditions. This special issue aims to highlight recent advances in optimization methodologies, including evolutionary algorithms, swarm-based techniques, hybrid metaheuristics, and learning-assisted optimization frameworks. Particular attention is given to innovative algorithmic designs, theoretical analyses, and scalable implementations that address real-world challenges across diverse domains.

Potential applications include, but are not limited to, wireless communications and network optimization, Internet of Things (IoT) systems, energy management in smart grids, industrial automation, intelligent transportation, machine learning and deep learning model tuning, cybersecurity, and large-scale engineering design. By bringing together cutting-edge research from both theoretical and application perspectives, this special issue seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and promote the development of next-generation optimization frameworks capable of addressing emerging technological challenges.
