Applied mathematics and scientific computing play a crucial role in modern science and engineering. For instance, the modelling and analysis of biological shapes and biological systems rely heavily on advanced mathematical methods and computational tools. The simulations and design of engineering structures and materials also require efficient numerical schemes and optimization algorithms. In this special issue, we welcome submissions from applied mathematics and scientific computing with a focus on their applications in engineering and biology. Contributions related to these fields from both the theoretical and applied perspectives are welcome.
