Manuscript Topics
When talking about Fractional Calculus (FC) with colleagues from applications areas, we hear, very frequently: “… and does it serve for anything?”
We can argue that there are milliards of papers dealing with applications FC, but, while such papers do not follow the standards used in Sciences and Engineering, they are not recognized by scientists and engineers. The objective of this SI is exactly to publish high-standard papers dealing with important applications in the real world, using traditional language, methodology, and validation.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
• Continuous and discrete fractional systems,
• Fractional systems modelling and identification, in time, frequency or scale,
• Biomedical signal processing: ECG, EEG, Epilepsy, Sleep classification, Spindles, etc.
• Fractional electrical circuits,
• New fractional devices for signal processing.
• Fast numerical algorithms for fractional calculus.
• Image processing.
• Embedded systems implementation of fractional operators.
• Fractional filters design and implementation.
• Fractional-order algorithms in AI.
• Data science applications of fractional calculus.
• Machine learning with fractional operators.
