The field of Economics of Education has evolved from the intersection of economic and educational research. It is defined as the study of economic issues related to education, and the application of economic techniques, theories, and concepts to any educational matter.
Mathematics have been applied in Economics of Education problems since the origins of this field. Nowadays, mathematical modeling plays an increasing role in Economics of Education. A key objective of mathematical modeling in this field is to enhance the evaluation of educational polices.
This special issue aims to showcase current high-quality papers using classical or advanced mathematical models applied to Economics of Education. Proposals should incorporate a substantial mathematical component for analysis. This special issue welcomes contributions with a mathematical focus that address issues involving extensive and/or complex data. Potential papers may cover, but are not limited to, the following topics:
• Comparative education
• Evaluation of educational policies
• Economic impact of education
• Educational production
• Educational outcomes
• Equity and inequality
Review papers on meaningful topics in Economics of Education using statistical methods are always encouraged.
