Partial differential equations are one of the indispensable tools to examine nonlinear physical phenomena in applied mathematics. Exact solutions of the nonlinear partial differential equations are essential and effective to interpret how the real worlds in physical science evolve. Numerical solutions are useful to determine the corresponding evolutions in some authentic applications. Mathematical analysis provides rigorous evidence for numerical behaviors. Thus, it is of interest to have results on the interplay research areas, numerical solutions and mathematical analysis to nonlinear partial differential equations. This special issue in Mathematical Physics copes with (but is not limited to) the subjects as follows:
