Manuscript Topics
This special issue highlights the latest advancements in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), with a focus on moving boundaries --- an essential aspect of both natural phenomena and engineering applications. The understanding and modeling of moving boundaries are critical for a wide range of complex systems, from biological processes and microfluidics to industrial and geophysical flows. Despite significant progress in CFD, accurately capturing and simulating these dynamic interfaces remains a formidable challenge due to the intricate interplay of factors such as multi-phase dynamics, surface tension effects, and interfacial instabilitie.
We invite contributions that address theoretical, numerical, and applied challenges in modeling these complex interfacial phenomena, including but not limited to dynamic wetting, fluid- structure interactions, and phase transitions. Submissions that introduce innovative computational methods and high-fidelity numerical solvers to enhance stability, accuracy, and efficiency are particularly encouraged. Additionally, we welcome research leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to accelerate solver convergence, reduce computational costs, and uncover hidden physical patterns.
