3D printing has gained significant attention in both academia and industry, playing an increasingly vital role in sustainable manufacturing. This technology employs a variety of materials and processes to create complex, sustainable, and functionally optimized components. Additive manufacturing (AM) encompasses several processes, including material extrusion, directed energy deposition, material jetting, powder bed fusion, binder jetting, and sheet lamination, among others. These processes enable the fabrication of intricate geometries and graded material structures with enhanced efficiency and reduced waste.


This special issue highlights advancements in 3D printing with a particular focus on sustainable processing techniques for pure, mixed, or multi-layer materials. The goal is to present novel strategies and optimization methodologies that improve efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
