Manuscript Topics
With the increasing trend of global sustainable development, the sustainability of the construction industry faces urgent challenges. Finding sustainable construction materials, which can reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions while meeting construction requirements, has become a major research focus. Sustainable construction materials include but are not limited to recycled concrete, geopolymer concrete, LC3 concrete, timber, bamboo, etc. Researches on the improvement of sustainable construction material performance, design methods of sustainable building structures, and the establishment of a life-cycle environmental assessment system play an important role in the promotion and application of sustainable construction materials in practical engineering.
This special issue aims to collect the up-to-date researches related to sustainable construction materials and structures. Covered topics include, but are not limited to:
• Manufacturing of innovative sustainable construction materials
• Modification techniques to improve the properties of sustainable construction materials
• Mechanical performance and durability of sustainable construction materials
• Mechanical performance and long-term behavior of structural members composed of sustainable construction materials
• Performance of sustainable construction structures under extreme loads and harsh environments
• Design methods for sustainable construction structures
• Calculation methods and evaluation system for life-cycle building carbon emissions
