Manuscript Topics
Common immune side effects from vaccines are typically minor like a sore arm or fever and are signs the body is building protection although more serious, such as seizures, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, or low platelet count in a short term. After COVID-19 vaccination, ongoing research is exploring a condition called “post-vaccination syndrome” (PVS), which involves chronic, persistent symptoms (e.g., fatigue, brain fog, exercise intolerance, dizziness) that develop shortly after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. Researchers have identified potential immune markers associated with PVS, but the condition is not yet widely recognized by major health authorities, and more study is needed to understand its prevalence and biological characteristics. Moreover, some phenomena have been randomly reported in case reports including non-tumor disease (such as Pulmonary Nodule, PN), and tumor disease (such as leukemia) and so on after COVID-19 vaccine. In order to study common immune side effects in short term, post-vaccination and some phenomena such as PN and exclude tumor related disease, The collection topic “Immune side-effect with long-term and short-term observation from vaccine” presents a collection of contributions by outstanding clinical researchers that focus on the fields of biology such as immune diagnosis, prediction and control for the immune side effects from vaccines.
This comprehensive collection consists of basic/clinical research and clinical applications, including:
(1) Immune side effects from vaccines (including mRNA, protein and inactive vaccine) are regarding minor and serious side-effect such as seizures, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, or low platelet count in a short term.
(2) Immune side effects from vaccines (including mRNA, protein and inactive vaccine) are post-vaccination syndrome in a later term.
(3) Some case reports after post vaccination (including mRNA, protein and inactive vaccine) such as PN and tumor diseases after long-term observation.
This special collection more focus on studying immune response mechanism includes
(4) Study immune mechanism in immune side effects in a short term and post-vaccination (including mRNA, protein and inactive vaccine).
(5) Study immune mechanism related to diagnosis kit and prevention measurement from vaccines in post-vaccination. For example, PN analysis and diagnosis are either for COVID-19 infection or immune responses
In summary, the collection among medical professionals and large-scale studies is that the benefits of vaccination significantly outweigh any theoretical and clinical research.
