Topical Section: Parasitic diseases
Parasitic diseases are among the leading causes of death in humans globally. There are three main classes of parasites that can cause disease in humans: protozoa, helminths, and ectoparasites. These organisms are responsible for many diseases and are transmitted to their hosts most often through the ingestion of contaminated food or water or through the bite of an arthropod. Today billions of people worldwide are affected by intestinal parasites or protozoans. This topic aims to present recent research on any aspect (i.e., etiology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, control, and prevention) of parasitic diseases.
With this we invite contributions addressing any aspect of parasitic diseases, including but not limited to the following topics:
