Manuscript Topics
The research examining microbiomes are currently exploding. During the last years, the instrumentations and approaches were improved to investigate microbiomes in more detail. First, the description of the community structure (How is there?) was in the main focus of research, however, nowadays, the microbial community function is moved in the focus (How is doing what and where?) of research because the findings providing new perspectives and understandings.
In this special issue, we aims collect high quality research articles, short communications, and review articles in all fields and invite manuscript submissions.
Topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Structure and function of microbial communities from environmental habitats (e.g. soil or aquifer)
• Microbial interaction and communication
• Microbiome biology from gut microbiome
• New approaches to investigate the gut microbiome
