Manuscript Topics

It is common knowledge that the brain exerts the control over most endocrine reactions. The degree to which individual parts of the endocrine system are under central control is only partially solverd. Therefore, new developments intrigue the endocrine community anew. The refinement of molecular technics has revealed a new wealth of information about reactions and molecules which could not be envisaged some time ago.

There were major developments in recent years. The production of steroids in the brain and their function therein was one of the achievements, the role of the infundibulum in regulating seasonal adaption and the circannual clock another. The multifaceted regulation of feeding is almost overwhelming the literature. There are also new ideas to the gender specific regulation of the endocrine system. All these developments deserve that they are mentioned in a special issue of the endocrinology of the brain.

We invite scientists and researchers to contribute full text research articles, contemporary reviews or viewpoints regarding important aspects to the endocrinology of the brain.

Topics include (but are not limited to)
• Steroid hormone production in the brain
• Function of neurosteroids
• The infundibulum as the organizer of the circannual clock
• Neuroendocrinology of sexual dimorphism
• Regulation of feeding in the brain
