Manuscript Topics

This Special Issue entitled “Laser materials processing” will cover various aspects of laserable materials and structures, laser materials processing system and related interdisciplinary technology such as the integration of laser processing technology and additive manufacturing. In recent years, laserable materials and their processing and advanced manufacturing technology have attracted intense research efforts from a wide range of areas such as material science, physics, additive manufacturing, and computational engineering. Lasers play a major part in the processing of the disparate materials used in engineering and manufacturing. In laser materials processing, high-intensity light beams are used for material fabrication. This Special Issue will cover some of the recent significant advances in the field of laser materials processing and advanced manufacturing technology. In particular, this issue will include, but is not limited to, laser cutting, engraving, drilling, welding, 3D printing, laser physics, micro- and nanomanufacturing, and biomedical processing. Research and review articles focusing on the above-mentioned fields are welcome.
