Manuscript Topics
An ever-growing demand for harnessing renewable energy sources in various applications is facing the today’s world of science and engineering. Solar and wind energy, with enormous potential, are two of the most used green energy sources. The intermittent nature of them, however, is an impediment to their application as steady energy supplies. In order to compensate for this shortcoming, the use of energy storage systems has become increasingly recommended.
In this special issue, we kindly invite authors to submit their manuscripts centered around the thermodynamic analysis of energy storage technologies (including thermal, mechanical, and chemical types) integrated with renewable-energy-driven systems. Standard methodological tools, such as energy, exergy, economic, and environmental approaches can be employed to evaluate proposed systems from diverse viewpoints. Moreover, optimization of such renewable energy-based systems using artificial intelligence techniques is also suggested.
Keywords: Energy storage systems; renewable energy sources; solar energy; wind energy; thermodynamic analysis; exergy analysis; optimization; economic analysis; environmental analysis; mechanical energy storage; thermal energy storage; chemical energy storage
