AIMS Energy Journal Special Issue: Ocean Energy and the Environment
As renewable energy is moving into the sea the future is likely to see not only wide fields of offshore wind power but also arrays of wave energy , tidal power, ocean current power and ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC). For this new ocean energy exploitation to be fully environmentally sustainable, in difference to many of our past and present ocean exploitation endeavors, the local effects from specific ocean energy devices to marine ecosystems need to be understood. This special issue seeks to enhance the currently very sparse scientific base for impact assessments of these technologies and consequently calls for research papers based on quantitative data from environmental effects of any ocean energy technology.
I look forward to receiving your contribution.
