Manuscript Topics

According to the United States Environment Protection Agency report, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions play a major role/cause in climate change. Efficient material management decision is the backbone for maintaining smooth flow in the supply chain system. Therefore, it becomes essential to manage the materials in the supply chain effectively. In the age of information technology and Big Data, the concepts of time, delivery, space, quality, durability and price become more crucial to the managerial decision-making. Due to the accelerating climate change and greenhouse effect, many countries and organisations are seeking to improve their strategies in order to achieve a sustainable supply chain and material management. Due to the important issues of social and environmental concerns; many countries and organisations are seeking to improve their material management strategies by incorporating sustainability. This special issue will focus on OR applications to improve sustainability in the broad domains of industrial management, operations management, supply chain management, sustainable energy, smart city planning, transport planning and new product development.

We encourage submissions that may include but are not limited to:

•    Sustainable channel coordination in multi-channel supply chain business
•    Sustainable international manufacturing networks
•    Sustainability in multi-channel retailing and procurement
•    Sustainable production and global production in matured society
•    Sustainable operations using Big Data
•    Supply chain operation considering Social Responsibility and Three R(Reduce, Reuse and Recycling)
•    Carbon Foot Print and Carbon Emission in Production Planning and Control (PPC)
•    Inventory and supply chain models for sustainable operations in manufacturing, production, and planning in multi-channel business
