Manuscript Topics

The mathematical modeling of many-agent systems has emerged in recent years as a highly active area of research. These systems, consisting of large populations of interacting agents with heterogeneous characteristics, learning capabilities, and adaptive behaviors, give rise to complex emergent dynamics that pose significant challenges. This special issue aims to highlight recent advances in mathematical modeling, analysis, and computational mathematics for intelligent many-agent systems. We particularly welcome contributions that integrate different mathematical description techniques, ranging from kinetic and mean-field models, PDE and stochastic approaches, to variational methods, with computational mathematics, including multiscale methods and uncertainty quantification. The goal is to advance our understanding of emergent phenomena and to develop effective tools for their prediction and control.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
 analytical and computational approaches to emergent dynamics;
 control, optimization and uncertainty quantification for multi-agent systems;
 stochastic modeling and kinetic descriptions of collective phenomena;
 mean-field and multiscale limits for agent-based models;
