Manuscript Topics
The special issue topics concern the applications of mathematics to important areas of medicine, namely epidemiology, genetics and medical imaging. We will favor formal approaches accompanied by simulations on the following subjects (non-exhaustive list):
• dynamics of contagious diseases
• mechanisms of transmission of infectious diseases
• prediction of the evolution of epidemics
• combinatorial properties of the genome
• dynamics of genetic regulation networks
• role of RNAs (micro-RNAs, tRNAs, circular RNAs, etc.) in the regulation of protein translation
• mechanisms of rejuvenation and aging
• healing mechanisms
• cellular and tissue developmental models (in embryology, cancerology, aging, etc.)
• mathematical techniques for reconstructing medical images
• techniques for registering reconstructed images with the anatomy of target organs
• mathematical techniques for reconstructing medical signals, etc.
