With the rapid growth of health and biomedical data, the processing of massive data utilizing advanced information technologies is of great need. Biomedical informatics has widely penetrated various research fields of biomedical science. It plays an increasingly important role in clinical application research, such as disease-related genes discovery, clinical diagnosis, individualized treatment of diseases, the discovery of new drug molecular targets, drug design, etc. The breakthrough progress of biomedical science in the future needs not only the efforts of biologists and physicians but also the intersection and combination of computer science, biology, and medicine.
