Manuscript Topics
Orthogonal polynomials play a crucial role in the development of various branches of mathematics, physics, and engineering. Problems in these fields, especially in mathematical physics and engineering, are often modeled mathematically using differential equations, many of which can only be solved using families of special functions. These functions provide essential tools for mathematical analysis and can be described through orthogonality conditions, as solutions to differential equations, by generating functions, recurrence relations, and operational formulas. In recent years, special attention has been given to obtaining new representations of these families of functions and polynomials, enabling their study to continue evolving and offering innovative knowledge and applications across multiple disciplines, from computational mechanics and materials science to chemistry, biology, and related fields.
The upcoming special issue, titled "Orthogonal polynomials and related applications" presents a collection of high-quality original research and perspectives that contribute to recent developments in the theory of special functions and orthogonal polynomials, as well as their applications in various branches of science.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Orthogonal Polynomials
• Hypergeometric functions
