Manuscript Topics

Cellular reprogramming is the conversion of one specific cell type to another and can be induced artificially through the introduction of exogenous factors, mainly transcription factors. The generation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from mature cells is the most famous example. Furthermore, “direct reprogramming” is now possible to directly convert somatic cells into a variety of other cell types without bypassing pluripotent states. This technology allows us to produce beneficial cells for regenerative cell therapies, without the use of eggs or embryos, and also to access pathological studies and drug development by using patient-specific iPSCs. Cellular reprogramming technologies have been rapidly evolving to the point where there are now many ways to deliver and express. In this special issue, we are seeking both review and primary research articles that are state of the art with regards to the biological findings and technological advances in cellular reprogramming.

Authors are encouraged to submit an abstract for initial review. The topic editor will then invite a full submission, if appropriate.
