Manuscript Topics

The lower urinary tract(LUT) has a very extended innervation with afferent and efferent pathways in all parts of the nervous system. Such elaborate system is needed to regulate and integrate activities of an autonomic innervation, the related somatomotor nerves, the afferent innervation.
It should not be a surprise that the system is vulnerable and that many neurological pathologies show dysfunctions of the bladder/urethra.
In this overview several aspects will be dealt with by different authors:

General overview
    1. The innervation and neural control of the LUT
    2. Epidemiology
    3. Classification
    4. Diagnosis and evaluation

        4.4. Neurophysiologic evaluation
        4.5. Imaging
        4.6. Renal function evaluation
        4.7. Endoscopy
    5. Treatment
        5.1. Conservative non-invasive
